FS: '65 Rogers wood Powertone snare Black Diamond Pearl, Cleveland

Loading...

Selling as found, leaving the clean and polish up to the new owner. I don't have time unfortunately, because I know how good these drums are. The chrome has some surface oxidation and dust, the wrap has just light scratches. Just about everything should come out if you know how to detail. The edges feel and look great through the heads, and the interior is beautiful and unmolested. The drum appears to be all original except the heads - even the snares are original Rogers. Cleveland tag #8314 should make this a 1965 drum, unless I missed something.

Feel free to ask any questions by email (lossforgain at earthlink dot net). The drum is cross posted to DFO. Ebay seems to say $475 and up plus shipping, so my forum price is $415 including shipping to the US48.

Could not agree more with Rims n Skins on the clean up. I picked up a Luxor last week on the bay in the same condition for $95. After about 4 hours of work it looks and shines like brand new and now worthy of display with my collection. I would have paid much more for it in its like new condition.

No Guru - I just love collecting & learning about vintage drums!

Some of my favorites from the kits in the collection
58 WFL New Yorker Blue Sparkle
67 Ludwig Hollywood Red Psychedelic
69 Ludwig Standard Red Ruby Strata
70's Ludwig BOP "Ringo" Kit

A few of my favorite snares
20's Leedy Black Elite
51 Leedy & Ludwig Knob Tension
58 WFL Buddy Rich Classic Blue Sparkle
63 Walberg & Auge Sea Blue Agave Green Pearl
66 Leedy Shelly Manne Blue Agate Pearl

Understood guys. If I had more time on my hands I would certainly do it. Maybe I will end up doing it anyway. But time is money too, right? It's a $500 drum in clean condition. I'm lowering the as-is forum price to $415 shipped.

This was my thought as well...but didn't want to be the first to say it! Even completely detailed, I don't see $500. The more rare finishes maybe, but not BDP. Just my :2Cents:

I paid 425 shipped private sale for a minty super clean PT in WMP recently. Right now the more common wrapped PT's are not $500 drums unfortunately, maybe prices will rebound in the future...

Found it!!
