24" Zildjian ride--60's?

Loading...

I picked up this 24" Zildjian ride a few months ago and while i believe i have a 60's ride here from the stamp, the hammering on the cymbal is far more pronounced than on the other two 60s cymbals i have. I was hoping that someone could settle this for me. It weighs in at 3417 grams and has a few scratches and a very tiny bit of a keyhole. It has also been cleaned by someone before it came to me. Here are a few pics.

I bet that is a gem! That stamp does appear to be a 60's stamp. That underside hammering is more than you normally see on a 60's cymbal though. I've had a couple of 60's 24s with the same characteristics. Maybe they went a little extra on the big boys! Beautiful cymbal!

Ya the amount of hammering on the bottom is what made me wonder. I know that one of the 54 stamps is pretty much the same as the 60s stamp so i was hoping someone would tell me for sure. I've been thinking about selling the cymbal so it would be nice to know exactly what i have in case i do decide to let it go.

Same height as my 60s cymbals, but if i remember right the 54 stamp is basically the same, even in size. Still pretty sure its just a 60s cymbal, but that hammering sure looks different than other 60s i've seen. But yes i'm very far from being a expert on this, which is why i'm here to confirm.

Here is one I had that was much like yours. Same deal. What appeared to be a 60's stamp and beautiful hammering. Also a 24 and was 3127 grams.

Thats pretty nice. Did it sound good? Can't say i'm really impressed with mine. Bought it online without hearing it and was pretty disappointed. At least i got it cheap so i should get my money back out of it.

Yeah I really liked the sound of mine, just already had too many 24's. I have played cymbals and not fallen in love with them only to try them later and have a different take.
