Do you have this book you've used the pic illustration from ? I think there is a full pic of it in the Chet Falzerano Gretsch book ?

I tried tracking down its provenance about 18 years ago. From what I gathered, it looked to be a base for a standing lamp, that someone at Radio City attached a snare basket to. It's also seen on the cover of Ted Reed's Syncopation Book too.

I do not have the book. I pulled the picture from a Google search. I did attached the image of the Syncopation book cover to show a little more of it.

If anyone out there has a complete picture of it it would really help me out.

Thank you!

Billy built that drum, and the stand. That`s his Radio City Music hall snare. It may be on display at the hall. Worth checking into.

Also Member BEC (Bun-E) had a Gladstone kit once, he may know a thing or two about Billy`s stand.

Carl Palmer had one too.

Billy has a facebook page dedicated to him. I don`t have a facebook account so I`m unable to view the photo`s section. Also worth a try.

It`s a drum,.....Hit It !!

Still trying to find a full picture of this stand. Can anyone confirm that it is in Chet's Gretsch book for sure?

Looked up KLIEGL BROS N.Y. which is what is cast into the base and found their website. On their website they have scanned catalogs from the 50's. In one of those catalogs I found this!!
