Hello All, my friend found this 1st wave MIJ B&M Rathbone snare the other day. The strainer leaver is broken. Never seen another example of this snare. It has 8 lugs any thoughts?
B&M RATHBONE MIJ 1960`s SNARE DRUM
The badge.
Well there is another name for my list of MIJ drums. Personally I've never seen one before. I have seen a strainer similar to that on here before. I'd venture to say It's a Star ( Tama ) but I could be mistaken.

Yes sir I think Star too, the owner wants to drill it for a new strainer I said maybe not! It is a rare bird for sure. I have never seen that badge also. Kind regards John
Let's wait for Ralf or Eric what they'll say.
Slingerland clone, (aside from strainer) should clean up nicely...

I like to think I am pretty informed about MIJ - yet this one has me stumped. We have any collective knowledge about the Sticksaver hoops? Did both Pearl and Star both make those - or shall we even consider Hoshino?
Sorry for the mud.

I found where I saw that snare strainer. It's on a kit in this thread - http://vintagedrumforum.com/showthread.php?t=57019&highlight=white+marine+pearl
What's intersting to me is from the look of the internal tone control they look like non Star Hoshino's. Reason I say that is on my Crown snare ( as well as a few other confirmed non star Hoshino's ) the mounting screw is always at the bottom and not at the top as is standard. Something unique to them.
