Please your help

Hello everyone, I'm new here and recently starting to collect vintage snare drums.

Purposed from Dutch drum builders, for example Van der Glas, Royal, Triumph, Vancore etc. Now I have come into possession of a messing drum which I know nothing about and wishes to ask for your help.

Does anyone tell me some more about this messing drum: the diameter is 14 inches and 6 inches high. In the boiler and both hoops are the digits "1395" installed.

Hello and Welcome to the forum!

I really don't have a clue on this snare drum, but as more of our members see it, someone should be able to offer up some information.

It looks SONOR to me because of that knob. I`ll look further and see if I am right.

Look for a triangle stamped into the shell or hoops.

It`s a drum,.....Hit It !!

Checks out, I see the hook on the throw too, but the wing nut looks changed out. It came in 6 and 8 lugs. Ran from the early 30`s to the 50`s catalogs. It`s a marching drum and those numbers can be the ID of the class or school. Military would have the red and white tooth pattern on the hoops. I`m pretty sure on this. It`s Copper.

I can`t transfer the pic or cat because I don`t know how. Henk has them protected somehow.

Thank for your answer.

I look for the triangle, but I can't see it. Inside of the shell I see that someone have place the digit "1395". And you are wright it's no messing but copper.

There were a dozen or so companies that produced these shells, the Red Copper mine is in Germany. The hardware separates the brands. I see the knob on the hoop and shell, and the longer hook on the snare throw. To me that says SONOR. Can we see the butt end and throw off more clearly if you can?
