Is anyone collecting marching/parade/field drums? Bass, tenor, snares, quads, etc? Just curious if anyone on the forum has some in their collection of vintage drums as an "oddity" or just for the coolness factor....
Marching drums
Let me guess you want one for your leedy set to convert? Hope you find one.

No, I have one and am having second thoughts about converting it now......also, starting to think that the bass was a marching bass too, mainly because there are no extra holes drilled in it and I can't find any marks on the hoops from a bass pedal or clamp on spurs......so with this said, makes me wonder how rare both a leedy & Ludwig marching bass and snare are these days. Hmmmm
If they are very rare, maybe I should just restore the wrap on them and leave them be as marching drums rather than make a "zepset" out of them....
band3 Anyone?
An older Leedy marching snare
(1948, I think). Mahogany shell. All the hardware is steel -no diecast parts -even the lugs are bent strips of steel -bent to kind of resemble a lug shape. Calfskin. Wood rims. Strainer -not a throwoff. Interesting, but not for my practical applications at the moment. It was given to me by my parents who found it at an auction for a few dollars.
