Old 60's Supraphonic - out of round

Hello. I recently bought a 60's Supraphonic and I noticed that the bottom snare side of the shell is out of round. Is this normal for a snare that old? Does if affect sound quality? I was able to tune it up ok and it sounds good to me. But I will take it back if its a serious issue.

Any help? Thanks.

Depends on what you paid for it. $100 no biggie. $200....take it back.

It isn't normal by any means - I suspect somebody dropped it at one time.

Your ear will tell you if it's a problem for you or not, and it sounds like it isn't.
