Turkish Zildjian with Signature

Loading...

Found a set of 14" Hi Hats with the Turkish label and a signature under the bell. However, not sure about the bottom, I think it was American. Who would have signed it? What's it worth. I haven't them yet but would like to know a value so to make a reasonable offer. Can't get the pictures to load now but will try later.

Mikhail Zilcan or his designated representative did that. And that isn't their name that you see on there.

So what does it mean? I'm trying to upload the pictures now. Who is that?

Still no luck with uploading.

I'll bite. If not the name of the maker, what is the meaning of this writing in the center? What language (turkish?)

K. Zildjian & Sons. Possibly in Latin script.

How could you be sure of what it says if you are not sure of the language it is written in? You must be taking someone else's word for the translation or you would know the language, not possibly know it. Just wondering.

See the guy on the left in this photo?

He's the only still living worker from the former K. Zildjian Istanbul foundry. I got that directly from him. He's the most knowledgeable and authoritative historical source than that you will ever find.

And Latin script is a lettering style, not a language.

You truly are a world class cymbologist. I really never doubted the explanation, I just knew that the additional information would be worth the effort of my post!!

Hopefully all is well with that fellow as they just had a massive flood in Turkey the other day.
