I got kicked out of the house

I had to get the car in the pic because I know some of you guys still have your first drum kit, I do not. But, I do have my first car, bought when I was 14 years old for 600.00. I do have my first cowbell though!

Thank you!

It's just a great display of American workmanship. A 40 Ford coupe and a set of Slingerland's set-up in the Buddy Rich tradition, both of which were reconditioned for another round of life. Love it!

Based on what 40 Fords have been worth my entire life, I'm guessing you were 14 a fairly long time ago or you got really lucky with that buy. Really sharp running boards and great color.

Purchased the car 40 years ago, lol.

That snare drum is the one I made the steam box for and the molds to get the flat spot out of it. I wrapped them with Sams vintage white pearl.

This kit has Evans clear heads, the Ludwigs in comparison have Remo coated Ambassadors so its not a fair comparison.

Thank you!

Beautiful kit and car, Jeff! Thanks for sharing both. Cool1

By the way, stay hydrated for those outdoor gigs. You sure don't want muscle cramps while playing.

Wow, that is one good reminder Lynn. It's awful when that happens.

Beauuuuuutiful! A vintage kit next to a vintage car. What's better than that? I think that should be theme for a whole new picture thread...

"Vintage Kits 'n Cars" If I still had my '63 Lemans convertible, I'd pose my Rogers sets in front of it.

Thanks, Jeff, for that drool-worthy picture. And kudos to you for supporting a local animal shelter.

Happened to me once. I could hardly stomp my bass drum pedal by the end of the evening. I thought I was staying hydrated enough, but I was wrong.

I drink Gatorade at all of our practices and gigs. In fact my bandmates call me Gatorade boy. They think it's funny but I'm the one that's sober and can remember from one week to the next what was said and what was done. So go ahead and call me Gatorade boy I kind of like it really.

Thank you!
