Star King Beat Snare - Wires

Loading...

Hi,

I am looking for some replacement wires for my Star King Beat snare.

As it is an early version of the King Beat snares I need the long version of the wires. I was looking on the internet but I only found the short version for later Tama Imperialstar King Beat.

Maybe someone of you knows where I can get one of these "long" wires?

Thanks.

Best regards, Leo

Hi Leo,

I've attached a picture of a Star King Beat. Let us know if this is the style you have. Do the wires need to have a tab on each end with a large hole?

If the Star King Beat takes the same snare wires as the Tama King Beat then the wires are available through Cannon on Amazon. I own two King Beats and run these wires on them and like them a lot.

Exactly the wires I was thinking they might be. Waiting for the OP to confirm.

Hi,

thanks for your replies.

@Mark: Yes, this is what I need.

There is a difference between the first generation of King Beat snares (calles Star) and the later King Beat snares (called Tama)...

Here you can see the difference:

http://forum.tama.com/yaf_postst13418_Kingbeat-snare-drum-and-snare-wire-info.aspx

The wires for the first generation are a bit longer. I already ordered some snare wires but they are too short. Puresound made some wires - yes - they were called PI1419, but they are for the later Tama King Beat, too.

And Puresound doesn`t produce them any more so they aren`t available in most of the shops I found.

@Nacci: Can you measure the distance between the two holes of your wires (mid to mid). I can check which distance I need.

Edit:

I had a look at my snare and measured the distance between the two "noses" of the strainer parts. It is round about 425mm which is 16 3/4" (exactly the same which the guy from the other forum wrote). My wires only have a distance of 16 3/8", because they are for the newer generation.

LeoB...

Thanks for posting the link to the Tama forum about the snare wires. I've bookmarked it for future reference.

Hello Leo, the measurement on my KB wires from Cannon from Center hole to center hole is 16-1/4" under mild tension.
