It appears to be a maple one. I'm not a big Roy Haynes fan, for the record, but....hey, it's Jazzette!

By the way...That's Jerry Hahn on guitar and I almost did some gigs with him in Oklahoma City years ago. LOL!

Gotta love that HUGE bass drum sound out of that little 18. Man I miss my Jazzette......and you gotta love that Paiste 602 flatride.....wonderful sound!

"Max did it. Philly did it. Elvin did it. But Roy......didit n didit n didit....." LOL!

Sweet footage! Roy gets so much sound out of those drums! I'm not familiar with the Jazzette snare drum. Is this is a metal drum?

Thanks!

I can't really tell what that snare is in the video -looks like a Supra or a Super Sensitive. The Jazzette was sold with a Supra, normally. But, Roy Haynes seemed to prefer a "Jazz Combo" snare drum (3 X 13).

This kit was rumored to have been ordered by Roy Haynes, but never picked up. It was then put up for sale on EBay and I bid on it....and lost!

Note the 12 x 8 tom with large lugs and the matching chrome Jazz combo snare drum.

Were these 3-ply or 6-ply?

circa 1973 -3-ply. Beautiful drums. I think they were very nearly mint condition.

That black Jazzette kit is so many kinds of cool. The Jazz Combo snare looks especially sick. Thanks for the picture.
