Wayne... if you haven't found a local guy, consider sending the shells to Precision Drum in New York. $15 per edge and they do excellent work that I can vouch for.

When you do a google on custom drums Ontario it does seem like you get a few hits... might just be worth a look to keep your business local. Not sure if you found someone or not. Another option is talking to the guys at: http://www.centurydrumshop.com/ They're in Toronto. They deal in vintage drums, I've dealt with them, they're great. They must know some pro's out that way.

Second option if you're really stuck; Jeff Woods from Woods Custom Drums, out here in BC: https://www.facebook.com/woodsdrums/ He rec-cut the edges on my early 60's Stewart kit, they sound a million times better now. First he leveled the shells (a little out of wack, as you can imagine), cut new edges, then hand sanded nice round over edges, finally sealing them up. VERY happy with his work. $25 CDN per drum. He's Ronn Dunnett's protege. Ronn is too busy for that type of work these days, he recommended Jeff, glad he did. I'm getting him to do all my kits. You'd have to ship them to him, but better than shipping to The States at least.

I'm about 30mins west of Toronto..

I use Paul at Udrums for edges..he's in Burlington.

In fact he put a new edge on my latest find,.

I bought a 15x12 WFL snare (wmp) to match my WFL kit ( Porto pkg / no Flr Tom)

When I removed the strainer & misc...I noticed the snare beds were deep & at least 6" per side....I couldn't tune the reso skin properly ..

Paul, was able to take off a 16th all around & re cut the bearing edge..

When I asked him to do the top edge as well,

He replied, "Nope, the top edge is perfect, no need to take yr money"

He has All the equipment that's needed..
