Gretsch Gladstone FT tension screws

Loading...

Great site you have here.

Looks like a lot of Gretsch fans here so I hope that someone can help.

I have a 16" floor tom date stamped 1952 that does not have the original

tension screws (t-handle bolts) for the Gladstone leg brackets.

It seems I need 5/16-24 and plan to use machine type screw as a temp fix.

1. Are the brackets steel or COB? I am concerned about using the steel

if the are COB.

2. Where can you find a suitable replacement?

The bracket looks like this, and as you can see, the screw/bolt looks

like steel.

Any help is appreciated.

Are they the same "pitch" as the Gretsch diamond FT mounts (which is the same as the late '60s, '70s Slingerland ones)?

If so, there's a guy on ebay named Drumarty that had some new T screws that work real well and are pretty cheap.

This may be the guy...contact him:

Rich - Not sure about the pitch c/w the Slingy's.

I came across this site however and might try these screws (item #4).

They also have the legs I have been looking for.
