Ellis Drum Shop Closed... :(

I just hated to see this. I was visiting my sister in St. Paul and I was really excited to visit this great vintage shop and found it closed. Sign taped on the door says, "Thanks for twenty years of wonderful business. My heart is broken" signed by the owner.

That is really sad. Geez.. He had an amazing vintage collection. :(

Not a Guru... just interested..

Very sad indeed. Cost of maintaining a brick and morter store front is huge. Hope he has gone online.

Nothing special here but I like them.

We lost a long time vintage drum shop in South Carolina also, as creighton stated very tough to maintain a standing business , This economy has taken many prisoners.

Your drummers not much good is he!? What you need is someone that's as good as me. ! John Henry Bonham !!

It`s a shame to see these mom and pop shops disappear...For the ease and convenience of the internet, this is one of the consequences in my opinion...

Just my 2 cents...

Cheers

I couldn't agree more with this statement. There were quite a few drum shops in southern California and it was a joy to visit as many as possible. At least Pro Drum in Hollywood is still alive!

I agree ! I go to Pro Drum for pretty much everything except my vintage buys . I know I can get my sticks and heads cheap and easy by buying online but I prefer to support my local businesses whenever possible including buying a shirt or some sticks when I go to one of their amazing and FREE clinics that they put on .

Warning ... Avoid member statuscymbal here, vintage_collector on DFO , and americanpatriot10 on eBay. Email me for his name. All are the same shady guy who has burned me and a list of other members on both boards . He is also selling on Facebook too ..
