Tommy, is there anyway to link directly to new posts? I can't figure out any address/URL to get directly there, so I end up going to the main page and hitting "New Posts" each time.

poppies!
How do you mean "link" to New Posts? Are you looking to see the newest/latest posts when you visit the VDF? If that is the case, the only way is to click the New Posts button up on the tool bar, which I'm sure you do already! Those are constantly refreshed of course .. so .. if someone has posted, it will show as NEW. If not, you will see "There are no new posts to show". Does that help?

I'm just wondering if there's a specific URL I can bookmark so I don't have to go to the homepage every time. Sounds like it's not possible though, and really, it won't kill me to spend an extra 30 seconds each day!

If you click on your browser address when you're on the "New Posts" page, you can drag that address onto your desktop and create your own shortcut. It's: http://vintagedrumforum.com/search.php?searchid=2146930
Hope that works!

It doesn't work because that searchid is only valid for your personal session while you are logged in as you. It will fail for everybody else (because they aren't logged in as you) and I suspect it will fail for you after some time when the session id becomes invalid. I'll just save the link away for myself (different searchid number) and then come back at a later time to check. Then I'll report back. Just out of curiosity...

You are correct sir! The "link" will go dead after a little time ...

Yes, invalidated after 20 minutes when I rechecked. Although I don't know the actual setting of the timer on this particular site. The inability to share searches with others is a vBulletin design issue, and there are probably ways around it. But I haven't bothered to find out about them. Life's too short.
