That Jellybean kit is a cheeky little number. Very nice.

Anymore pics out there of these under-rated drums?

Cheers

Here are my George Way drums. I've been holding out sharing these until I could get better photos. I've been too busy so here are some quick cell phone pics.

All original finish except the floor tom. The floor is actually a Camco...previously a wrapped Oaklawn. The rest are George Way. Still looking for a correct 8-hole COB rolled hoop for the snare drum resonant side. I believe this snare should have curved snare gates.

Dan, those look great! I see you've got the hoop-mounted rack tom. I've never seen one like yours up close, but I use a Ludwig one on one of my kits & it works fine. You might get in touch with Dolfan about getting a bass drum logo--I think it'd be the finishing touch for your kit. You should be very happy with those ducos!.......marko

Sweet looking duco kit! If I were you, Dan, I'd use an original Camco pedal with that - it is the ancestor of the DW 5000, and just looks "right" with a vintage kit like that...

I'm really glad to see this kit come together for you - I know you were working on it for a while. I bet they sound pretty good, too!

Thanks Marko. Cool that you noticed the tom holder. I actually made a post here on VDF in the 'Wanted' section for this piece and a forum member came through with the part! (photos of the mount in the thread below)

http://www.vintagedrumforum.com/showthread.php?t=53880

I first saw one of these mounts in a 1950s George Way Catalog scan. I imagine this is a W&A or MIJ copy.

My 13" tom has a factory spade receiver but the bass drum is completely virgin...no spur mounts, tom mounts or cymbal mounts. I figure with the approximate age of this kit being late 50s or very early 60s...and the fact that this mount is seen in the 50s George Way catalog, this mount must've been used.

However, with the drum placed on the mount and the tiny bass drum spurs that came with the kit, the drums want to topple over to left. I'd never be able to play the kit in this configuration.
