TAMA Flat Base Stand

The classic shape is sure to please vintage drum fanatics who desire the look and performance of pure flat-based stand, but with contemporary functionality. The upper rod is solid (a feature appreciated by vintage enthusiasts that provides the cymbal to ring unimpeded by metal mass), and includes a thin o ring at the end that eliminates rattle, which vintage stands can be prone to. Wing nuts are appropriately small, but feel comfortable to the fingers. and fine-tooth gear tilter allows for incremental cymbal angles, while holding the cymbal firmly in place. Tripod legs fold up against the stand to reduce height for easy transport and the tripod leg rubber tips give an understated, vintage look, that fit snugly onto the leg for consistent stability.

I like these kind of stands. I've been running the DWs for years. Gibraltar and Ludwig do em as well.

Just checked these out online. I like the look. Just wish they had a more vintage looking wingnut. The supplied wignut are really large!

This looks about as close to the original '60's Ludwig flat base stand as I have seen. I like that! MarkE

Sweetwater claims they're 8mm posts. Jeez, a swing and a whiff.

Regardless of the my thoughts on the wing nuts, I really like this vintage-style stand over anything else I've seen on the market. And, yes, these are as close to vintage Ludwig 1400 stands as you'll ever come across!

Just last week I purchased the DW 6710 boom stand along with the "Ultralite" straight stand model. I believe both will serve me well. The boom stand is sturdy, enough where I am comfortable attaching a small arm for an extra crash cymbal. Nice vintage look and I love that they are lightweight!

I guess we should thank Peter Erskine, he convinced TAMA to create these.
