What is this rail mount?

A crafty Japanese copy or maybe, possibly, W&A? Vintage Tom Mount article by Ken Hart claims the W&A consolette was used by the Kent Drum Co. (see page 1, photo #6). There are some subtle differences but the article says there were some variations. The nuts and bolts should tell the story. MIJ is probably metric fasteners, W&A would be english. The square head nut and wrench seems MIJ to avoid copyright infringement.

Kent did use the W&A mount early on I have had them . The same ones used by Gretsch . But the one I posted above for sure is MIJ and looks just like the one in the original post .

Warning ... Avoid member statuscymbal here, vintage_collector on DFO , and americanpatriot10 on eBay. Email me for his name. All are the same shady guy who has burned me and a list of other members on both boards . He is also selling on Facebook too ..

I agree. Surprising how similar that MIJ mount is to the W&A, especially in pictures. Is the MIJ different in size, metal thickness, finish quality etc?

It looks to be the same size and to have the bolts in the same place but I don't an old W&A anymore handy to compare . The quality seem to be pretty close too ..

The way the tube attaches to the bass drum plate is different than a Slingerland W&A. I can't speak on the other companies. It's not enough to find a vintage part. You have to make sure it's not an import copy as well. Thanks for the good info.
