Charlie Watts is both the worst and luckiest drummer of all time.
The intro to "Honky Tonk Women" pretty much blows that statement out of the water. As far as lucky, I think his yearnings were to have been a bop drummer in NYC in the 50's.

Plenty of great drummers used whatever they got the best deal to use - free drums, free drums plus money, whatever they could bargain for.
Funny too how back "in the day", talking 60's and 70's, a 22x14 kick was "the one" and nowadays it doesn't seem to generate much excitement.
