Found this neat Aria kit.. Were these any good, and were they MIJ ?

Just curious..

Hello human71

I personally would buy them without hesitation

they seem to be pretty darned pristine and complete

especially for that kind of money

Ten lugs on the bass and eight lugs on all the toms

The snare drum is a real beauty

sort of a Roger's dynasonic knockoff going by the lugs at least

I have an Aria kit that is pretty clean also

But mine has an eight lug bass with six lug toms

Also on mine, being that they are a year or two newer

Hoshino abandoned the nice cursive Aria Logo on the bass drum head

And went instead with a gaudy very bold "ARIA " in big block lettering

Those drums are way too nice ..Grab them

I'd buy it immediately!

The cymbals look interesting too in the small pictures. Nicely hammered and lathed. Maybe B20.

I've had a set like this one and after toughing up the bearing edges it sounded great. I passed it on because I had more than enough kits that were equally good-sounding but more interesting to the eye. However if, this were the only kit I was ever going to have I'd be more than satisfied! Click the Flickr link and see the black MIJ special paint kit.

Yeah - I was not able to find that kit using the link (ad is probably deleted) - but I would be snagging the:

$130 Raven kit. They aren't 60s like the seller claims, but they have original hardware and have that great vintage vibe (70s).

I had a great day! Instead of sleeping in and wasting the day, I got up at 8 and I had all my slacking done by noon!
