Ludwig Stainless Steel

Hi everybody!~ I'm new to the forum. Here's a picture of a set I put together. I got the bass drum as a shell on eBay, and got the parts to put it all together. It's a former marching bass, 14" x 28". The rack tom is also a former marching drum, 15 x 12. The floor toms are standard drums, 16 x 16, and a 16 x 18. I just put on all new emperors/ambassadors. They have a big sound. Time to start playing again! Hope you like the picture. Cheers!

once the brass ceases to glitter, and the drum looses its luster, and the stage remains dark, all you have left is the timbre of family.

Hi Chenzo,

Awesome kit, Same sizes as mine. Did you mod the bass drum? I would like to see pics of the holes in the shell for the legs. I can't see the vent hole/badge in pic, could you please confirm the vent hole is in the center of the drum and not pushed forward.

I play my kick with only a 2" wide felt strip running across the inside of each head, and the sound is thunderous.

The shell had already been drilled for the leg mounts when I got it. (you can tell it's not a factory job, all the original holes look punched rather than drilled) The badge is indeed in the center of the drum, and oriented rotated 45 degrees, I guess so it would be correct when someone was in a marching band, carrying it in a parade. There were two small holes where hooks for the marching carrier were, I plugged them with stainless bolts/nuts. I had a pillow in it for the picture, I've since gone to the felt strips. Sound is huuuuuuge, make drumming great again! Here's another picture.
