Any old DW catalogues

Loading...

Looking to determine the color of a 90s DW kit I just got. it is Lacquer, black with small blue flecks .

Been searching around WWW land and can not find any scans of the DW cataloge from the 90s. I am thinking 1995-96 era...if there even was one made.

All of the other old catalogs are in black and white. And they dont seem to offer anything but clear lacquer anyway

Well this is a pic of the finish. the bass drum is dated 1996. I am trying to determine the color as I have never seen it before. It is a Laquer, black with blue tiny flecks. I called DW and sent him a pic he said maybe it is an old Black Mirra, but I think Black Mirra has multi color flecks.

Another person says maybe somethink called Superman's Hair? But a google of that brings up 2 comments from random people. No other mention.

What do you guys think?

dw switched from keller to making their own shells in 1997. so if your kit is from 96 then its a keller kit. my older 90's catalogs (which is more like a pamflet) do not show fancy color options like that. the 2003 catalog shows it as black mirra.

Might be giving up on the color question. I've sent a few pictures to DW and he says not Superman Hair. Maybe it is possible that this is aftermarket? But not sure who would have been doing custom Lacquer jobs back in the 90s, using blue flecks. Quality seems original. However the bass hoops are beginning to peel and flake off at the edge.

Here is one last picture to see if anyone else has any ideas. I took this picture outside. All the flecks are blue against a black background.
