Figured since I was taking photos of projects, I would snap one of the snares. A couple didn't make the photo. One a buddy has, another is at the band room, then I have my one set aside for shows ( usually rotate them )

I've said it before and I'll say it again....I just don't get it, if I have more than two drum keys I go batty.flower
Ya know It's crazy, I don't personally understand how anyone can have one kit and that's it. Maybe it's just the collector in me, or perhaps that drumming was all I've ever been good at. I could also just be addicted and unable to stop. I think that's really what it is,lol

Nice stash. Some killer Slingerlands in the stack. Have fun while you can. The wish I would'as around the bingo table of the nursing home is not the same :-)

It's funny, I have more Slingerland snares than any other company ( might actually have as many Tama's ) but kit wise I have more Ludwig kits. The snares that aren't in the photo are my two slingerland marching snares, my peace onyx, pearl ( not sure, limited maple model ), my CB,tama swingstar,my two home built snares from toms, and my tama imperialstar mastercraft. Have to take a group photo of those, lol

Thanks for the photos. Always fun to see these displays. Hope soon to get all of mine assembled and worthy of a picture. Snare drums seem to get hung up on what heads and snares to use. Then another project gets started :-) Bunch of unfinished projects. All part of the fun.

I don't like having drums sitting around, I can only play one kit at a time, so to me, it makes no sense.
My buddy Nick feels the same way. I think he has two, maybe three kits. Only reason for that is he owns a professional studio and is a world touring drummer. His only response to my collection is that I am simply ridiculous. He is correct, lol

Coins, toys, stamps, cars, drums, whatever? This might be of interest on the last part of this thread:

Maybe your heirs get to sell it all for $4.5M some day??? In any event, Jay, you are far from being alone in the matter of having a large collection and you've got some pretty good gear and good chops to make every bit useful.

That's an interesting article, but let's be realistic, a drum collection, no matter how nice, will never bring anywhere near that kind of money. There has to be another reason, not sure what that is, but I'm sure it's not so someday they're become millionaires. Maybe some of the collectors can fill us in.
