Hmmmm I actually really really like Mod Orange!
I had a friend who owned a vintage phsyc Red Ludwig and that kit was so cool too.
Maybe going back in the day these kits where an arm and a leg expensive. A drummer would buy A drum kit to work on. And maybe the safer colour schemes were a better bet because it was a commitment, even if they liked the more out there finishes. Of course those home players could have just what their heart desired.
Moving forward to today we are collecting multiple kits. These old kits are really only costing an average workers months take home so we are taking up the sport in our droves. Just look at us all on this forum. We can have a safe finish for gigs AND collect some more out there colours for our whimsy, or maybe for those types of specific gigs that accommodate that crazy look. I maybe would think twice if I could only afford 1 kit, but as Im not in that position I would buzz having an original Mod Orange.
