Last night I picked up an early 70's bronze strata Standard. The good news is its a one owner kit with very little fade on the wrap, its barely noticeable even with the lugs off. The guy I got from said it it was his when he was a kid and he thinks he got it around 1970 brand new. No date stamps but there is evidence of paper tags that are now long gone. Serial number on the FT is 54443. No snare but the kit is mostly intact. There is some unoriginal T handles and claws, and one of the tone controls is missing a knob but everything else is pretty much there. He even kept the bottom hoops and tension screws after he pulled the bottom heads off.

Now here is the bad news, there is some pretty serious separation of the reso side re ring on the floor tom. I knew about it and at first glance it looked like an easy fix. I figured throw a little glue on, clamp it and bobs your uncle, but I now I'm not so sure. When I got it home and really started looking at I noticed there is more to it than I thought. Even with a nice tight clamp I'm not sure there is enough meat on that re ring to hold to the outer plays. What do you guys think??
