Soultone Cymbals

Loading...

I know these are in no way vintage ( actually really far from, lol ) But after having played a good show tonight, I came home to this e-mail -

" Dear Jay,

We are happy to welcome you into the Soultone Cymbals family! "

The rest of the e-mail was all the finer details, the contract, cymbal lines, price guide, etc. Words can't express my happiness over this. I wanted to sign with them about ten years ago, but bands fell apart and I ended up not being in a position to represent a company. Can't wait to get my new arsenal of sounds.

Congrats Jay that a huge deal. I've been reading about Soultone lately on DFO. There's a few threads on them there. Interesting as I really haven't looked into them much. Post some pics when you get them! Do you get to pic the line, type, size and weight of the cymbals?

Thanks guys and yes Glenn I do. I can even have my own signature stamped into every cymbal I get, which I may do. Not 100% on that yet. They gave me one heck of a deal too, not gonna lie I was actually surprised by my discount.

Congrats, Jay! Good news indeed, and an excellent start to the new year! I've not heard of Soultone, so I'll have to check them out.

Congratulations! I can bet you're so happy.

I only have one small splash, but it's a good one. A nice brand.

Thanks much guys! I made a post of this at the other forum I frequent ( though not as much as here ) and this was one of the replies I got -

" Modern variant of the classic vanity scam.

The 'artist' gets a modest 'discount' off an inflated msrp then feels like they part of an elite family because they see their picture and band name on an obscure website when all theyve really done is bought some cheap chinese/turkish cymbals at the regular price. "

Now I'll say it got my feathers a tad ruffled, but not enough to warrant a nasty comment. I don't wanna think this way because I don't like it, but a comment like that is almost a " jealous " comment. Just wanted to share that little gem here.

Over here on a classy forum, people do not behave that way.
