Keepin it alive, here's my Club Dates with a fresh application of Minwax Poly Shades "Mission Oak" stain...well a couple coats actually.

Last week this kit had the homemade silver glass glitter wrap on it. Well I still have the wrap rolled up on stand-by, but thought I'd work with the mahogany since it is original and is a better look for the project I recently embarked on.

I've really enjoyed looking through this thread. Soooooo many amazing drums and kits - some real eye candy !! You guys rock ! (and swing)

Here's my 2 cents worth. A 67 Burgundy sparkle kit I bought new for about $350 with hardware - been trying to locate the original receipt.

A 60s black lacquer 7 piece kit I bought from a friend of mine who had done a wonderful refinish and restoration back in the 80s.

Probably the wrong forum for the one below as they are brand new...but they do have a vintage vibe.

I only have 2 kits. Both are Ludwig of course. My favorite is a set of Ludwig Classics from the late 70s - early 80s. This kit was left on the side of the road as trash. A guy saved them from the landfill. I bought them from him and restored them in tangerine glass glitter. Best sounding kit I've ever owned.

A '78 LM402; and a pic of my recently resto-modded green sparkle 3-ply kit.

These Club Dates look great! A couple quick questions: are those extra clamp-on spurs? Do you always use the bass-mounted cymbal arm that way? Do you always hang your rack tom like that?

I really like seeing how other drummers set up their kits. Thanks........marko

I gotta get a " set-up " shot, but hopefully this will hold everyone over for the moment. Here are my Vistalites.

22" Bass,14" tom, 16" floor tom.

Thanks! I do always [for now] have everything mounted as shown. The clamp-on spurs save the originals from all that stress while keeping the front up, even with pedal attached. The original spur under the tom does provide some extra anti-tilt. For now I'm liking the tom low and more to the left.

Great kits especially lovin that burgundy sparkle...
