Has anyone used these Paiste 1000 series cymbals before?

There is a green 18 I am looking at.

What do these sound like please?

Thanks

I had a 1000 series China years ago. I absolutely loved it. I've had a few Paiste's through the years and have always enjoyed their sound. What's the asking price and what model is it?

I recently sold a 1000 20" Ride... Made in West Germany.. played it for a few years... I'd rate the range as pretty much the early logo Alpha series. And I believe the early logo series sound better than the later Alpha's..

Cheers

The add says only 1000 series 18".

About $100.00.

What models did they make of these?

Could it be a crash or a ride?

18 crash would be cool. 18 ride not so much.

Thanks for the input guys.

I'm not sure if they made an 18" Ride. I'm sure they made an 18" Crash / Ride though. Found this other thread which talks about them. They were semi-professional made from 1986-1991. As long as the cymbal isn't cracked or damaged in any way $100 doesn't sound bad. I'm see if I could get it down to $75.

The Pasite Only Wiki is your friend:

http://www.paiste-only.com/paistewiki/index.php?title=1000

In 18" they made

Heavy

Crash

Power Crash

China Type

No Crash Ride or Ride according to the Wiki.

I don't know anything about them. I just know the Wiki is the place to go.

It does indicate they made 20" and 22" rides in regular finish. The RUDE version did have a crash / ride.

Right you are. I wasn't sure whether we were talking about 1000 RUDE or not.
