Thanks Andrew. I too thought that Ronnie's name was pretty rock & roll but sadly when I tried to google him, the only hit I got was from some guy who'd been tried for murder! Hope it wasn't him!

Thanx for the extra picture.

So it seems the original re-ring was glued back in.

The other bearing-edge seems to be re-done als well.

Nice drum.

Looks like Ronnie Lee Jones had a messy style of working, not cleaning his hands from the blue paint while grabbing the in-side ;-)

I'm currently working on a 15 incher, that why I asked about sound.
