Keith Moon's Cymbals

Loading...

Just to the point here- Discussion with the best photos I can find. Would love to merge some threads that talk about his ZYN's, Super Zyns, Ludwig/Paiste, Zildjian, and Paiste 602, 202, you name it. I hope this is a fun thread and since we all know that most of his cymbals never survived, I mostly want to hear thoughts on some of the cymbals on the recordings if possible including isle of wight and R'n'R Circus.

I think that Moon would hit anything put in front of him, either with a drumstick or a car. He'd put water and fish in his drums! I think that if they needed better sounds in the recording studio, it would have to be up to the engineer to put a certain brand on the stand. He was obviously a nut, an awesome drumming nut!

Thanks for posting and although I am aware of the site and love it... it lacks much cymbal information unfortunately... other than what has been sold at auction.

I gotta wonder what his cymbal requirements were. Heck, many of those photos he doesn't even have hi-hats. The man was a monster, and one drummer I would have loved to pick the brain of.

18 Kits & 40+ snares..
