That finish is amazing. Looks European from the lugs. Personally never seen anything like it. Looks pretty old though, I'd venture to say 30's from the strainer.

Yes, the finish is really cool. The snare is 36 cm in diameter including the hoops and 14 cm deep. That's a bit less than 14 inches diameter and 4 to 5 inches deep.

Extremely interesting, Jon... never seen before... Stamping lugs, parallel throw off, central operated muffler...

Nice snare !!

I suppose that muffler's rod had a missing felt head.

It could be a Marius Renatus...from the 30s-40s era but i am not sure!
