Will post mine later. Have a couple of questions. Mr Ludwig, what's the deal with that throne. A repro, another brand or Camco?

And can those with original snare stands tell me the colour (or colours) of the decaying rubber in the grips. i got both of mine with nothing and want to re-dip them. I'm guessing black or white but can can also see something tan-like (or is that just sun damaged white?).

David, the Camco snare stands I've seen have white protective 'tips'. Mine were aged to a dirty white or tan color. I replaced them with surgical tubing but I hope to find a better solution. Everywhere I looked I could only find tan or black tubing. I also got it way to thick. It works, but it's kind of ugly.

Perhaps they had other colors, but I only seen white on snare baskets.

Hoshino Era Camco. Some consider them the redhead step child...I like them, get a lot of compliments. Very loud and resonate well.

My Chanute kit 22/13/14/16 with 5X14 snare I bought used in 1976. Came with one of the original DW canister thrones shown in some of the pics. It was a beat up walnut stain when I got it and being in my 20s I decided to refinish it and install some hip Rogers memory lock tom hardware. Probably would rethink that today but had a different mindset back in those days.

I recently cleaned it up and installed some new heads. It's road worn a bit around the edges but I just love it. This kit has served me so well through countless gigs over the years - priceless.

Those are cool Doug! The Rogers mounts are rock solid too.

Thank you!

Nice work on the refinishing, and very cool that you still have the drum key in the snare drum! That's a beauty.

Hi Antipodes,

The throne is a Ludwig that I ordered a few years ago, they still make them! Thanks for noticing!
