Great drums! I have a set but don't use them with two other recording custom kits. They are literally the grandfather of the recording custom. Their offspring was the 9000 and the 9000 offspring is the RC.

I'm not surprised you love them!

Cobalt Blue Yamaha Recording Custom 20b-22b-8-10-12-13-15-16f-18f
Red Ripple '70's Yamaha D-20 20b-12-14f
Piano Black Yamaha Recording Custom Be-Bop kit 18b-10-14f
Snares:
Yamaha COS SDM5; Yamaha Cobalt Blue RC 5-1/2x14; Gretsch round badge WMP; 1972 Ludwig Acrolite; 1978 Ludwig Super Sensitive; Cobalt Blue one-off Montineri; Yamaha Musashi 6.5X13 Oak; cheap 3.5X13 brass piccolo

I bought this recently. It is a Rogers 380, but is really a Yamaha with the same finish that you have. The original snare was included as well.

That's the one. Very nice. Oddly, it seems the Rogers badged drums sell for less than the Yamaha badged drums. Same shells though

Thanks for that. That drum is a slightly different wrap and is from the lower line 200 series. It's close though. Note the different badges and lugs.

I have been using this kit a lot lately and I've grown to like the blue FT. Lately I've been wearing a red shirt and blue jeans on stage just to compliment it:)

Hahah Cool. I was off set, because your kit had metall hoops too, but it also has 8 lugs and the iron badge so its a D series kit indeed (probably with changed hoops)

Oh well. it was worth a try ;)
