Our band is doing the song Mississippi Queen and Honkytonk Woman. My bell is a black beauty and does not sound right. Looking for a big deep sound, low pitch. I can buy new at store for 45 to 70.00 dollars, anyone have one they dont use? Hate to be cheep but its been a tough year.

Thank you!

What type of instrumentation are you using ? Are you going to play it by hand or on a kit ? Very important!

Yes that would help wouldn't it! Looking for one that can be played on the kit with drum stick and would mount on a rod, like this

http://www.musiciansfriend.com/cowbells/meinl-chrome-steel-cowbell.

Now I feel really cheep that I see that one for 34.00 and most likely free shipping so buying a used one probably wont be much less. I played one at my music store last night that was 45.00 plus tax, just thought I would ask here to see if anyone had one laying around and could give up for a few bucks.

Thank you for your response!

Try stuffing some foam rubber inside to kill some ring.. Then use the butt end of your stick on or near the open end... may improve it..

(If it works put a dob of glue on the rubber to hold it in place)

Cheers

If you can find the 60's Ludwig script logo golden tone model, they really have that sound that you are looking for. They have they kinda bronze look to them.
