I think that you are one "0" off on your asking price...1300.00 is more realistic...unless of course your drum is finished in Autographs of the Stars...

Yea i went to take pictures of all that today and my cameras battery was dead...They will be posted soon. As far as selling it for $1,300 that seems awfully low compared to some other people I've talked to about it, it might be that you are right, However I would like to know how you've come to that figure Mike...no offensive taken or dished out by all means, I'm just curious.

Mike is a nationally known vintage drum guru......he knows what he speaks of in this case.

Not to put too fine a point on it...the highest Leedy drum sold on ebay in the recent past was 800 dollars. Gene Krupa's entire kit went for the area of where that gentleman is attempting to steer you on this drum. The date is significant due to WWII. But, it isn't so significant that it warrants that price. Please understand, value is always subjective. If you can find a buyer that will pay 13000 for it, then that is what you will get. But, most people that know drums will put that value right at or even less than 1000. Sorry. That's just how I see it.

I agree with the boys on this one. The WWII era drums are often times more collectible than playable which makes them appealing to an even smaller segment of the market than other vintage drums. Everything depends on condition and how much gear is included however, but somewhere in the ballpark of $1000 for the whole kit seems about right.

I'd take tons of accurate pictures, list it on ebay with a super low starting bid, set a high reserve to protect what you feel they are worth, and see where things take you! Best of luck!

Leedy's are GREAT drums without a doubt, but unless there's something about them that makes them stand above the rest of them, Mike Curotto is dead on with the approximate pricing of your Leedys. Mike is one of the "go to" guys in the Vintage Drum circles, he knows his stuff in these matters.

That being said, you might have a one of a kind kit that MIGHT command huge cash, (do you have the "Cadillac Green" of Leedys?) we'll wait for the pics just so we can see what, if anything, is special or unique about them.
