Ludwig lugs identification?

Loading...

Hi, does anyone here know when Ludwig produced these type of lugs? I have a Ludwig kit from sometime before or around 1980, probably bought in Norway around that time.

When the pics of the kit show your Set - then points everthing to Sonor not to Ludwig.....as far as i know!

Those are not lugs manufactured by Ludwig. They are Japanese lugs associated with Star Drums and their associated stencil brands. The entire design of those drums were copied after the German Sonor drums of their time, being mid to late 1960's to early 1970's.

I would agree completely with Buckie

I have a Japanese made U.S. Mercury Kit here in that Peacock Pearl wrap

Mine has Slingerland knock-off lugs opposed to the Sonor copied teardrop lugs

Yes, it's Sonor lugs, also as hooks.

Thanks for clarifying, great help :-). I got stuck in the Ludwig section, and the attached picture shows why: The rest of the kit says Ludwig. No wonder I got confused. Is it hard to get hold on screws/tension rods? The screws for the bass drum front is missing, and the screws I have won`t fit these older lugs. I can manage better pictures, but was in a hurry.
