Japanese Restoration Kit

I found this kit in an old non-winterized building in upstate New York. It was a complete wreck. so much so that you couldn't tell it was red at first glance. I restored this kit completely, polishing all the lugs and hoops by hand. I re-glued the inlays and the wrap, everything is original except the heads. I put more money and effort into this kit than it is probably worth but I like it. It's small and light weight, and she makes a good sounding bop kit. It's also good for taking places I'm too nervous to bring the Rogers kit. I made the cymbal arm from a few old spare parts frankenstein'd together. If I had to guess the date, I'd say between late 60's and early 80's. Specs are below. Enjoy!

looks new (but we all know....better than new!)

My guess is 1975-early 80s.

Live that snare....pls let me know if you ever want to get rid of it.

I had a great day! Instead of sleeping in and wasting the day, I got up at 8 and I had all my slacking done by noon!

Sorry, I'm taking it to my grave! I got that snare drum when I was five years old and it was my first drum ever. It happened to match this kit so I used it in the picture
