Hi, I'd like to get the thoughts of the forum members on an old cymbal I've come across. It's 12" cymbal. It has no marker's markings or signature on the cymbal, but it appears to be an early type, heavy, orchestral cymbal. It's clearly hand hammered. Can anybody help identify it's origin? I'm thinking Italian or Turkish, but I'm unsure.
Any help appreciated.
This is an unknown Italian type, possibly a stencil brand like Ajaha.
Thanks for the reply Drumaholic. That was my guess too. I have a later 70's XE Ajaha with the Made In Italy stamp that I use with this as a Hi Hat Pairing. Also sounds great with small stamp Super-Zyn. It makes a good Hi Hat bottom cymbal.
My guess is that it is a Belloti. (sp?) Looks just like the Belloti I have - and others as well as you will find when you google it. Mine is really thick too.

Thanks John. I thought it could be a Bellotti too, but there is no stamp which makes me think that it's more likely to be Ajaha or similar.
I took some more photos that show the hammer pattern a little better.
