DrumMate by STAR

Hello,

Just finished this DrumMate drumset, which reached me in quite good and almost complete condition: only the snare lever had to be added and some rubber feet to bass drum and floor tom.

Plus cleaning and polishing the wrap, of course, and new heads on.

Nice! My Drum Mate snare is also missing the lever.

Looking great... Nice work... My first kit was "Jason" by Star... only thing I can see is, the tom bracket was different to these... All else looks to be identical..

Cheers

John

Thanks, guys, for your compliments.

@longjohn:

indeed, Star used different tom holder systems. Can you send me a pic of your drumset, please?

Yes yes! Those came out looking real sharp! My understanding is that those shells are the thin ones with re-rings.......the best sounding MIJs IMHO.

Nice sample of the DrumMate!

I had a great day! Instead of sleeping in and wasting the day, I got up at 8 and I had all my slacking done by noon!

Sorry, these shells don't have re-rings (and mainly I haven't come across many Stars having the re-rings you mentioned - nevertheless I'm sure that those shells sound excellent). I think that most of the Star's have the simple 'pure' wood shell construction, and some being painted additionally grey inside.

May we see a close up of the badge.Very nice.

You can see it on my website (see below, in the footnote).

Thanks for your compliments!

Ralf.. Only few pics I have of the Jason kit are in B&W.. but here is one anyhow.. Note the Jason badge from this kit (BD only) was not the Slingerland shaped badge but a alloy pennant shaped badge with a maroon backing and "Jason" was in a script.. have not been able to find an image..

(and yes no rings in these)

Cheers
