Weight test might be enough

Have you got some examples for weights of the others models depending of the shell material ?

LM 400 COB : 10/12lbs

LM 400 Ludalloy : 7/8lbs

LM 402 COB (I don't know if this model exist in this size) : ???lbs

LM 402 Ludalloy : ???lbs

And the Supersensitive ? Cool Dude

From Ludwig-dude

Brass shells returned briefly in the late 70's, then replaced by bronze, then reintroduced in the 90's.

Is there a method to indentify thoses 90's COB models ? the weight ? the serial ?

Perhaps was it a special edition like the actual "CHROME PLATED BRASS SNARE" ? I never hear about 90's COB model.

Weight test might be enough, but Ludwig had such varying degrees of standards for things It's nice to be absolutely sure.

That's why that WHOLE sentence is important, weighing it MIGHT be a good way, but with Ludwig, there are inconsistencies in EVERYTHING, so to be SURE it's Brass, just do the file method. If it IS Brass, you'll know, why GUESS?? Totally up to YOU of course.

If insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results, is it insane to practice?

Yeah, they also made some steel shelled drums. I believe that they USUALLY have the Black and White badges, but it's Ludwig, anything goes!!.
