vintagemore2000 Surprising that they put real copper on that set. Alot of the new set have that mylar wrap that look like copper yet its a hard plastic. Ludwig has a set and it look like real copper yet it is not. They must weigh a ton each drum with copper covering.

They do, as do the chrome wrapped shells. we have many threads here on the vdf about this wrap.

Might I add?...

Metal wraps during this period were indeed as VM2K has mentioned... REAL metal. There was no plastic! Fibes/Farmingdale NY .. which are the originals! .. never used a plastic "chrome" wrap during their tenure. It was spring steel that was chromed. Slingerland's COW was also spring steel/chromed, and the Copper over Wood was also REAL copper wrap that was lightly lacquered to "try" and preserve the finish as has been mentioned here prior. None of these were ever plastic! Today... I guess they would be. But not back then!
