'61 Slingerland Bop Kit in Sea Green Pearl

Much too low for me. I'm 6'4", I can't even use the rail consolette on my 20" Gretsch with a long spade. Gotta use a snare stand when I gig. And I do gig this kit all the time.

Awesome!

That's the exact opposite problem I had gigging my 80's yamaha drums that were "turbo" sized (14x14 rack tom) when I bought my first modern kit. The Tom on top of a 24" bass was sky high, so I used a low profile snare stand.

My first kit was a clubdate, and I would joke that the yamahas smallest tom was the same size as my clubdates floortom.

I like Drums...

For sure. I've never liked large mounted toms. I think nothing larger than a 10x14 should be mounted, anything bigger deserves legs. And mounted floor toms, I hate them! How are you gonna bend the note on with your left elbow if your floor tom is mounted on a cymbal stand? You'll fall over! You can't even really bury the stick to mute a mounted FT without worrying about it moving on you.

Yeah I too tried that back in the 90's. I soon realised 3 or 6 legs was easier to cart around than a massive double braced stand, and easier to position on any stage, and quicker to set up. Then I can have my cymbals anywhere I want them without enforcing position change on everything! What a faff.

Modern drum makers seem to be after a drum that will ring for 30 minutes. I blame this cult of endless resonance for mounted floor toms, and for all the super bulky mounting systems over the last couple decades. They make a drum that will ring as much as possible, thinking that's the ultimate goal in drum tone, and then everyone that buys them gets moon gels or rings or gaffe tape to dampen them. Pure foolishness.
