Can anyone identify these Rogers Drums?

Loading...

Hi Everyone,

I'm of course new to vintage drums, and Rogers in particular. I have tried to place these from the various catalog images, and info from this site. The pics are rather small, but I was hoping the tom mounting hardware would indicate the era that these came from.

Beautiful 1960’s Rogers drum kit for sale.

Sizes are: 12" x 8", 13" x 9", 16" x 16", 20" x 14", and 14" x 5".

Very cool Swivomatic hardware. 100 % all rock maple shells with that classic Rogers warm tone.

They have factory paper tags inside the shells and a serial number in the low 12,000’s.

These “Small R” Rogers drums look great and sound even better. Included in the kit is the Rogers - DYNA-SONIC snare.

All original hardware is intact and almost perfect, with the exception of one missing kick drum support.

I purchased these drums from Soul Drums in the mid 90’s and have never toured with them.

Just don’t have the time or space to play them anymore and I want them to go to a good home

where they will be played and enjoyed.

I am asking $1,500 which is exactly what I paid for them.

I am also willing to sell the complete kit for $1,700.

This set would include hats, 16” and 18” crash and 20” ride cymbals.

(all Sabian) as well as stool, and cymbal stands.

This is an amazing kit for collectors and players alike.

If you’ve always dreamt about owning a classic kit from the 60’s, now’s your chance.

Please contact me if you are interested.

Cheers,

James

If this is a factory set............ , the swivo double tom mount on the bass drum has been changed to memrilock. The toms and floor tom are 9/72 paper tag five ply drums, the double tom post is memrilock. Possibly there are memrilock/swivo adapters for the tom arms which are swivo.

Would that indicate that they would be Fullerton era drums and if so were Fullerton era 5 ply with rings?

You have early Fullerton drums from 1969-72 Mostly Five Ply, possibly some three ply

9/72 Fullerton drums from 72-75 Mostly three ply, possibly some five ply, (the 1973 catalogue states a three ply shell.)

Big R Fullerton Memrilock from 75-79 Mostly Five ply, (possibly some three ply during the changeover transition period. .

Big R Fullerton XP8, 79-84 All maple, Eight Ply.
