i want a drum with center lugs and wood hoops. I would prefer ludwig but other brands are welcome. Im wanting to add a smaller kick to my 12/14/20 clubdates i am re-finishing. Im trying to find a drum that can be re-finished to match. im painting a duco finish on them. I would prefer the drum to be 15"-16" but may take a 14" if price is right.

You might consider a maple exterior if you are looking to paint the exterior.....just my two cents........:):)

+1 on that. Mahogany will soak up paint like no other. too porous of a wood. Duco's were painted on maple.

I have a Slingerland 12x16, same as the one in the pictures but painted black and with metal hoops.

I have a single tension 12x15 Slingerland shell and hoops from the 40's. Unoriginal Red paint and some extra holes. Let me know if it works for you.
