I got lucky ,I know. I don't think the previous owner even played them or set them up. Going by the conversation we had when I offered 200$.

I wrote the guy a while back and told him they'd likely be worth about $700. I wasn't making an offer, I'm not in the market for these drums. But he may have thought you were me again, being sneaky and writing from a different account or something.

He never replied to me either, though I was trying to be polite and informative.

Looks like these landed at Donn Bennett's in Bellevue, WA, if anyone wants to play them. Possibly consignment, can't tell. He put them on eBay too, item 321780271157

From muddy guy

Hey Green GlassWould you be able to tell me what year these were made?

Sorry, did not see this.

No, I do not know when they were made.

Did some research.

Some think the badge is an "H" shape for Hoshino.

A lot of these showed up in Canada and Finland.

From green glass drum

Pearl (MIJ) had acrylic kits. Called "Crystal Beat".Started in 1973.Now they are re-issuing them.

Isn't it mind boggling the value of some acrylic drums? I had a vintage Pearl Crystal Beat snare I recently put on E*** and it went for $400. Couldn't believe it. BTY.....Didnt mean to but-in on this blog like I did. I'm dumbfounded on acrylic drum prices as well.

That set if now at Donn Bennett's shop in Seattle area. Was there the other day looking at them. The upper toms are 8 lug, not 6 like everyone else. The chrome is in excellent shape. Too many sets in the basement now, or would have brought them home. They look great. Truly a unique set.
