Here are a few pics of it, WFL 1948-1952 Badge. 14x26" bass drum, 6 1/2x14" Ray Mckinley snare drum, 9x13" mounted tom.
Two more hours of 600 grit sanding. I'm getting close to the end, !! It is looking much much better now, The back panel which was the worst part of this job will be the most labor intensive, You can see at the panel seems how yellow it was when I got the drum.Will continue on this section until I'm happy with it.

I'm not really sure yet ? I am talking with a well know vintage restorer I am waiting for his recommendation, Thanks for the kind words on the wrap.
Looking real nice Mark! I would like to know what you spray over it as well. Couldn't you just polish the shell with some kind of buffing compound?
Nitrous cello us lacquer a dead on match for the clear they used up to the early. 70's
See, now I am confused here, but I really dont know much about the finish on the old drums. Wraps such as WMP back in the day were never sprayed with lacquer, were they? And would lacquer properly adhere to that wrap, I would think not. Im not saying it wont work, it just sounds like a bad idea to me. Now of course if we were talking wood drums that would be different. Has anyone ever sprayed lacquer on a Delmar type of wrap? I am interested in this. I remember a thread a long time ago from an English guy that had a Ludwig floor tom that was really bad, he sanded just as Mark has done but Im sure he polished and buffed it back to a real nice shinny finish.

Jeff no you are correct, I think your on the money, A good polishing and Buffing sounds as the way to go, A clear spray on a plastic wrap does sound counter productive.
