Saturday morning score

Loading...

Thanks Mitch, same to you.

Jerry, sorry, not for sale. I want to play it with my Camco's, perfect match wrap wise.

Glenn, I just got one drum but it will be in the big family.

John, it was just a Craiglist thing, 10 minutes away. Saw it, emailed the guy, he called me, it was all done in less than an hour. He said he helped his uncle move and his uncle gave it to him. He has a vintage amplifier for sale also but I didnt want that.

Thank you!

Jeff great score, throw the hardware in a slurry of bar keepers friend and dawn , and a cleaning brush, they will clean up really well.

Your drummers not much good is he!? What you need is someone that's as good as me. ! John Henry Bonham !!

Jeff,

I would leave the wax paper in there, tape off the bottom, clean them, and then you should baste the wax paper in place very lightly with veg. oil or olive oil, with tiny brush just before installing them. Wouldn`t hurt to brush the springs either. Two hairs and some air with that brush.

It`s a drum,.....Hit It !!

It is a 14". Heads were never removed, I had to carefully pry them from the hoops. Every nut, bolt and washer is present. The inside look brand new. What a great drum to match that white paint to! The lugs still have the original paper around the springs so Im not sure how to go about saving that. They are nickle, I think, due to the non rust but the greenish oxidation. Might just polish those without removing the springs. This drum matches my Camco kit perfectly! Now I can play a 1 up 2 down in silver sparkle.I guess all of my recent giving away of parts has paid me back in what we call good drum karma!Anyone else need anything, lol!

So, soak everything in a mixture of Dawn and Bartenders friend???

Got em all soaking in some dish soap and water.

Oddball, thanks for the tip on the oil, I managed to get the springs out with the paper on them. But I will coat them before they go back in.

Those nickle lugs seem like they will be hard to get shinny.

Shell cleaned up real nice, thanks Novus!

Thank you!

Always nice to find the floor tom first to start a good project. I bought a wmp 14x14 clubdate floor tom locally a few years ago. Odd for me as there is almost nothing locally for me to buy here. Ended up building a super nice kit around it. Lots of fun!

Great find, congrats! Lugs will clean up easy.

The floor leg assemblies and tension rods will be more work. Mix of Dawn hot water and Bar Keepers Friend. Let that soak a few minutes add more hot water and scrub with a stiff nylon brush. Rinse well and soak overnight in Dawn. Polish and repeat as needed.

Any more info on that amp? :) :) :)

Cool drum find! Reminds me of that ride cymbal I just bought. I looked for one semi-seriously on craigstlist for two years and not a peep. Then this one pops up a half mile from my place. Congrats again on the floor tom!

Surrounded by drummers here! (I am a guitarist.)
