I just came across this poor disabused snare and was wondering if by any chance it is a COB Pearl Jupiter that has seen better days or just an old Pearl steel snare. Or neither? Thanks!

That's a real rough job on the bottom rim... Door handles must be to save you slicing off your hands...

Cheers

From funkypoodle

I'm gonna have to start writing stuff down! My age is catching up to me!

I had to look it up in my Pearl file where I wrote/typed it down.

I hear ya brother.

Jupiters had a Super Sensitive Strainer.

Mine in pic is a: (These are my notes.)

Pearl B4514L - L for 6 1/2" depth.

Not a Jupiter. Jupiter was like a SS strainer system.

Three stripes denote the Brass versions

"Gladstone" type strainer. Die Cast.

1978-1982

(B4514 being the 5" version in Brass ("B").

I wanted to make sure mine was a COB, so I stripped it:Dflowers2

I knew it was brass. Did it anyway.
