I would agree with the dudes, it is a fair price. Nice looking kit. You could always sell the cymbals, for say $400-500 I'd say and then you've got the kit alone for a little less. That thing is clean. Does it have the original bass pedal?

No,the pedal is not the same brand. I think its Ludwig. But its from the same era.

I have the pedal if you want. It's a decent one that I don't and won't use. I'm still using my DW pedal. That, and the throne, are the modern engineering concessions to my vintage gear.

I just bought the same snare for $75 and it's in pretty good shape except it's missing the strainer adjustment knob. It even has the original snares and snare side head. Any idea what it could be worth? Thanks.

70s Slingy WMP
70s Ludwig Standard Aqua Mist
60s Ludwig Champagne Sparkle Downbeat
and a whole bunch of snares and hardware

I bought that sparkling Beauty! I finally did it.....I picked it up today. I brought it right home and set it up....but it was to late to play. See the photos below. A few small negative discoveries: 1. the reinforcement ring on one mounted tom has slighty pulled away. The crack is one-half inches long.

2. One cymbal stand does not match the set but it dates roughly to the same vintage.

Besides these two issues, its a real beauty. It felt weird pushing my orphaned mutt Rogers set aside to set this up. Well, I can play them both.

Thanks to all those that advised me on this set.

Scott-

how are you? Yeah.. I fall in love with these darn drums to fast. Can't say no to any of them. This Slingy set will be my main set. The Gretsch will be a long term project. Happy hunting. Cheers.

I'm freakin' out here. That set is GREAT! Oh my gosh. It's so very close to perfection. That Rogers stand will net you enough on ebay to pick up another one of those Buddy Rich stands so you can have them all match. Strange throne, though. That rering is a very simple fix. As has been posted on this forum two hundred and thirty seven times, you simply glue and clamp - TA DAAAAAA! Done and done. It really is that simple. You, my friend, are a very fortunate man. Your drum kit is simply exquisite. Play it and enjoy it for years and years.

MCJNIC- You answered my next question for ths forum. "What the heck brand is this stand?" So, I guess its a Rogers. The owner said it was from a Sears catalogue. (????) MCJnic, are you busting my chops about the stand?

Yeah, I love the set. I almost walked away from it a few times; cold feet. I got it with the Avedis cymbals ( 1 ride, 1 crash, and hi-hats) for $1175. I never thougth I would spend that much money on drums. When the former owner openned his garage door, and I saw the set, I knew I would be going to the bank. I hope I didn't over pay. Playing it has already nearly erased the cost, well nearly.
