Siiickkkkk
Tommy Aldridge's vintage Ludwig snare!
Not worth anywhere near the BIN price since it has been modified and un-original. Not like Tommy Aldridge was fantastic like Bonham, Moon, Baker, or Ringo.....sorry, just not worth that much to me, or a collector. Good Luck.....
How much do you think that drum is worth?
I heard 8 lug brass Ludwig shells are rare?

Maybe half the asking price. You have to figure now the drum has extra holes in it that it didn't have originally in order to fit the later hardware.....
I'd say half the asking price....maybe.....maybe slightly less.
Totally sick. Tommy is the man!

Maybe, but there's also no acounting for auction silliness, or just plain stupidity. I wouldn't have paid more than $200 for that drum with all the issues it has, nevermind who owned it. A messed up Ludwig is still that, messed up and the new owner will NEVER get their money back on that one, even after the issues have been corrrected because you still have extra holes in the shell that you can't fix as easily as on a wood drum.
:confused::rolleyes:
One thing I noticed about this drum after the auction ended......there is NO WHERE it shows on the drum that it IS a Ludwig. There are no engravings with the Ludwig name, no badges. The hoops are modern hoops, and the "retro-fitted" throw off and butt end are modern chromed Ludwig pieces. Otherwise, it looks like a generic brass beaded shell with brass tube lugs, also rather generic looking. Something that anyone can get through Drummaker.com.
So.......real good luck to the person who ended up with it, Tommy Aldridge owned or not.
